9th GRAND PRIX NOVA, 2021
SHORT FORMS. Belgium - Conner
SYNOPSIS:
In an age of body positivity, one man feels only body negativity. Jean-Pierre hates how he looks. Every time he looks in the mirror, he almost vomits. Disgusting. Clumsy. Degoutant. He is no longer the man he used to be. And he is not alone, his wife also finds Jean-Pierre a sad sight. She would rather have her husband look like Conner Rousseau, the Belgian counterpart of Justin Trudeau. A socialist politician with charisma, an impressive body and a pearly smile. One day, Jean-Pierre has had enough. He walks to the kitchen drawer and decides to undergo the metamorphosis he has been dreaming of for years.
„He felt like a kind of Belgian Quasimodo. But without that wonderful character that the deformed goody-goody of Notre-Dame was known for.”
The
radio play Conner
is an ode to the man who can be made, even if that man is a
do-it-yourselfer.
